How private submissions workFestivals around the world are looking for judges.
Festivals on FilmScorecard post open calls for judges. Every call is judged online, so a panel in Lisbon or Melbourne is as close as the one in your own city.
- 01
Search by category
Every call lists the categories it needs judged, from Narrative Short to Feature Screenplay, and when applications close.
- 02
Pay stated before you apply
Paid calls show what each category pays per scorecard, with technical and creative work priced separately. Volunteer panels say so up front.
- 03
Apply with your own terms
Your application starts from the posted rates. Keep them, or propose your own and let the festival accept, counter or decline.
Take private submissions from creators.
Creators can send a submission straight to you for a scorecard of their own, outside any festival. It lands in the same queue as your festival work.
Your rate, stated up front
Set one rate per scorecard on your profile. Creators see it before they send anything.
You choose what to accept
Nothing reaches your queue until you accept it. Switch requests off whenever your festival season is full.
Between you and the creator
The scorecard goes to the creator who sent it. No festival and no other judge sees it.
I would like a read on the second act, and whether the ending earns the turn it takes.
Score it on the festival's scorecard.
Every festival writes its own scorecard, and a creator can add two questions of their own. Score each question from 1 to 10, write what worked and what could be stronger, and file it. A coordinator approves it before the creator sees it.
